Although she still resembles a tiny alien, your baby's facial features are starting to form. Arms, legs, hands, and feet are taking shape, although they don't yet have fingers and toes. The brain is growing more complex; if you looked through a microscope, it would be clearly visible through the transparent skull. The embryo has started to move in small jerks, although you won't feel these until the fourth month.
Those are much better pictures than the other ones I was using. I will be sticking with the ones from this website now.
Anyway, things are going well. I was supposed to go in and sub at an elementary school here in Rochester today, but when I showed up, they were like "Oh, a teacher came in that wasn't supposed to be here, so we shifted around a bunch of our subs and we're not going to need you today afterall." I was relieved, becacuse I came home and slept for another two hours. I've been lounging on the couch most of the day, except to go run a couple of errands, and to unload the dishwasher - both of which just about drained me of any energy I had left!
A woman I know from my church called me the other day. She has a job opening for a case manager at the homeless shelter she works at, and wanted to know if I was interested. It's a huge debate, because of how much I love teaching - but it's only part time, and I would be able to bring the baby to work with me if I wanted to... I don't know....
I'm getting nervous about my PRAXIS II tests coming up a week from Saturday. I've got lots of studying to do, so if my brain will handle it, I've got to get to studying some this afternoon. I just ordered a new social studies book that I'm hoping will help a lot with some of the social studies stuff - especially since I'm taking a test in Social Studies alone. God forbid I try to take it and get all but one question wrong or something.
A math teacher job opened up in Johns school for the next school year. I put in my application for it. Actually, my application for it is sitting in my mailbox right now. I didn't want John to bring it in, because I didn't think that would be very professional, and I didn't want the principal to think that I was getting him to do it because I thought it would buy me an in or something. I don't know if I'd be good at teaching math, but I'm interested in a lot of subjects now that I've started subbing again!
Alright, all this talk about teaching is making me want to go study for my tests.
