One Week

I can't believe there is only one week left until Christmas! Holy cow! I'm excited. For a while, I was starting to feel like I had lost my Christmas spirit, but it is starting to catch up with me again. Yesterday, John and I had to go to Vermont for a family party with my dad's side of the family. It was nice to see everyone. We did a Yankee Swap, and I was #1, so that was great! If you're #1 in a Yankee Swap, you get to go around and look at all of the gifts after they've been unwrapped and pick whichever one you want, since you didn't have the chance to swap with anyone after opening a gift! That started to make it feel like Christmas again.
There is also only one week left for me at my job at Seacoast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. That is going to be bitter sweet when I leave. My last day is Friday. On one hand, I'm really excited about not having to deal with a lot of the stuff (and one of the people) there, but I am going to kind of miss it. I've been there for about a year and 3 months, and with the turnover rate in the medical records department, that's a long time! On the up side though, I'll be starting a new adventure in substitute teaching. I'm trying to decide if working in a school is my calling, so what better way to find out?! I still have no job with the state and they've got 44 days left to find me one. I'm not getting my hopes up.
I heard back from UNH about why my diploma hadn't arrived yet. Well, apparently, one was ordered in my married name instead of in my maiden name. So they were going to have the printer make up a new one for me. I am glad I caught them ahead of time, because I had actually wanted one with my married name on it, for the sake of ease, and I told them not to have the printer make a new one, that I WANTED the one they had, and so to just send it to me! I'll be relieved to get it. I'm excited to have it and be officially done with that chapter of my life.
I guess that's about all for now. Life is pretty boring, but I'll be sure to keep everyone updated when I start subbing!
